Cryptobox feed hunter info.
We have a number of regular customer for many years who are satellite enthusiast and feed hunters and they
report back to us. This is the receiver they are all buying because of it's advanced tuning capabilities.
Here are the comments -
31/01/21 "Switched up all seven receivers this evening. Moved the dish to Hispasat at 30 West.
This is the result in channels found -
ab CryptoBox 752HD 529 - Channels
Technomate TM 6900 - 392
Technomate TM 8000 - 389
Edision Piccollo - 383
Amiko X Finder - 376
Amiko Alien 2 - 356
Technomate TM 5502 - 333
I find it odd that my oldest receiver, the TM 6900 came second, 137 channels short of the Cryptobox.
The TM 5502 took 47 minutes to search and download and has now earned a death sentence. It was also
196 channels short of the CryptoBox.
The Edision although HEVC capable did not download the BISS transponders on Hispasat which are registered
on Lyngsat, therefore these transponders must be S2x.
Weather here was drizzle. In rain the Cryptobox and Edision come out best for signal level.
I hope someone produces software that will allow both the Edison and the Cryptobox to set search parameters
instead of the whole satellite. I have sent a message to Technomate asking them when they are going to
produce a receiver that will be HEVC and S2x capable. I eagerly await their answer."
12/02/21 ab CryptoBox 752HD Combo. First report.
"My first thoughts on this relatively simple to use box are as follows:-
Setting up first search of HotBird at 13 East. I first cleared all the transponders that were already installed.
The CryptoBox searched and downloaded all channels in 5 mins and .01 of a second . The receiver downloaded 1,341
channels. One of those channels was at 8K.
In comparison the Technomate TM 8000 Combo took 18 seconds longer and downloaded 1251 channels. A difference
]
of 90 channels. This time difference is reflected on all satellites. e.g. Turksat at 42 East, same download
time difference. CryptoBox found 366 channels, the TM 8000, 339. It wasn't until I downloaded 33 East did I
realised that the receiver is actually registering the data channels into the channel data base. For some
reason, even after upgrading the receiver software, 33 East satellites are not listed in the available
satellites listing, you have to add the satellite yourself."
"Being a combo receiver, the receiver will down SD an HD channels terrestrial.
Video sharpness is good but I feel the sound could be better. I must state that I have a 60% hearing loss
but I wear high grade hearing aids. Often when switching through the channels you do not get any audio,
but simple use of the menu you can find the right audio source.
I am truly surprised at the receivers sensitivity. On 33 East, 10758 V 27500 5/6 8PSK, the receiver down loaded
the video channels as well radio channels, the TM 8000 does download the radio channels. The RCU use has caused
me some fun, the frequency used on some of the keys operate the Kaanan HDMI Matrix switch 8 in 2 out, another
key switches on/off the TM 6900 and the TM 5502. However this has been easy to get around.
I will be keeping and using the ab CryptoBox 752HD Combo on a daily basis. For the price, in my opinion, this
is a good buy. As you good people know I have been in the communications World now for 61 years."

I can now recognise the problem between the two receivers, they are both advertised as HEVC, S2x capable. The problem
therefore with the Octagon is threshold, improve the threshold and it would then become competition for ab CryptoBox"
16/02/21 This Data may enable you to sell more of the ab CryptoBox 752HD. What a brilliant receiver this really
is, a true enthusiast box indeed. I have been reporting my results on feedhunters@googlegroups.com
I have searched 18 West with both the Octagon and the ab Cryptobox.
No programming was found on either receivers, but there are active TP's

It takes longer to remove these TP's than it does to download them! Nearly 800 of them on this beast.

The Octagon SF 8008 +4K in it's sales pitch says that it is HEVC and S2x Capable,
but as of yet, it has definitely
not produced the data that the Ab CrytoBox has.
Thumbs up for the CryptoBox.
The Octagon SF 8008 +4K, 4K being the only advantage so far that I have found. One good thing about the Octagon
is that you can work and switch between two software marks. I am using, as is Chris, Open VIX which allows
search parameters to be entered and "user defined", this does not allow search parameter setting, however
is the better of the two software's.
When completely resetting the Octagon, you are given about 10 separate software's to choose from.
Hope the data is useful for the sales side of life. My enthusiasm has been uplifted by this receiver.
At nearly 77 years old people think I am weird!!!!

Buying a fully loaded (programmed)
satellite receiver for motorised use.
This service is available for any motorised dish. If you are buying a system, or just a receiver
and you already have a motorised dish, we can take the receiver out of its box and fully program
it on one of our demonstration dishes. This would mean that the new programmed receiver can be
connected up by the customer and all the satellites channels will work straight away.
(Providing it is connected to a dish that is properly fitted, set up, and tracking the arc)
It would take a customer about many hours to program a receiver (since there would be
unfamiliarity with the installation menu system). After programming, the channels are then organised
in a logical order. (This is what takes the most time.) We make sure the first channel on every
satellite is a clear free to air unscrambled channel. Channels are organised into a logical order.
e.g. Adult channels all together etc. Movie packages .. etc. Moving all of the channels into a
logical order can take days. This programming is ONLY £19.95 This service is entirely optional
but for mail order customers it can take a great deal of the worry and uncertainty out of a
purchase. The programmed receiver is supplied without dish positions to be used with any dish.
Only the positions and the limits need to be added. This is a 10 minute job. This option is
ideal if you are buying a full motorised system and you intend to fit it yourself.
This option helps a great deal. It also makes it easier to install a motorised dish as channels
already loaded can help identify the satellite if a budget satellite meter is being used. Detailed
installation notes written by us are included and we can talk you through the installation
over the phone if required. See our support package on our
support page.
Our notes guide you through how to connect a programmed receiver, and setting the positions.
In addition, useful easy to follow notes on blind searching written by us are included for
future reference. For international orders, this option has one other worthwhile purpose.
The receiver is fully tested before shipping while it is being programmed.
