An ultimate dish system for enthusiasts. Gain 42.0 dBi at 11.95Ghz. 3dB beamwidth - 1.6
degrees. Cross polarisation - 30dB. The new Primesat
CH12MK5 heavy duty polar mount and actuator is designed for
the 1.2m Raven dish. The new Mk 5 has been completely redesigned compared to earlier versions. This mount is
produced by our sister company

This mount is very well designed. The dish does not stand a long was away from the pole. With this latest Mk 6 version,
the mount is a close and well balanced assembly. The framework is very strong and well engineered. Fine adjustment is
easy with a spanner. Primesat CH12MK5 heavy duty polar mount and actuator. The polar mount is Stainless Steel
All of the nuts and bolts are made of stainless steel except the main elevation and declination adjusters
which are made of brass. The polar mount fits on the back of the cahors fibre glass 1.2m dish using
the 4 bolts that come with the Cahors dish. A genuine Superjack
18" actuator is
included. This dish / polar mount motor unit is designed to clamp onto a 76mm diameter pole (70cm - 90cm).
An ideal ground stand is the Primesat
GS761FW3 stand but see a option below. An ideal
wall mount is the Primesat
WMS45076 mount. 4 core motor
control cable for this motor is available.
V Box option. Using a Diseqc satellite receiver, a
V Box is also needed, or a V Box can just be used as a
separate positioner as it comes with it's own remote control. The V Box in automatic mode converts Diseqc
commands to 36 volt positioning and only the satellite receivers remote is used. It also introduces more power to
drive heavier duty 36 volt motors. Spare parts are also available for this dish.
LNB options below. There are many LNB options. LNB not included unless an option is chosen. There are 40mm
clamp universal LNB options. If a wideband LNB is to be required, choose the hybrid 40mm LNB as it has universal
outputs as well. If wideband LNB outputs are required they must be 40mm and there are no c120 flange wideband
LNBs available. This is also the case with the fibre headend.

Raven 1.8m motorised dish kit.
This Raven 1.8m dish is probably the best 1.8m dish available anywhere. The one piece reflector is thermoset-molded
glass fiber reinforced polyester for strength and rigidity and surface accuracy. An ultimate dish system for enthusiasts.
Gain is a massive 45.5 dBi (Ku band). Beam width 1.0 degrees, Noise Temp. 31K Cross polarisation 30dB.
Heavy duty Raven 1.8m motorised dish kit including a polar mount which is designed and built by the Satellite Superstore,
heavy duty actuator and optional Raven matched feedhorn with C120 flange LNB. This is a Raven Skyware Global (formerly
Andrews and before that Channel Master) 1.8m dish. Very high gain one piece proven design. The motor unit is a Primesat

Adjustable feet for motorised use.
This is a worthwhile addition when ordering a 76mm (3-inch) ground stand. Feet are not included as
standard with the stand above. Using the 1.8m stand above, for motorised use, to make the pole plumb, we would
recommend at least 6 feet and preferable 9 although up to 12 can be used. It will therefore be necessary to add

This shim is designed to convert a 76mm pole to 80mm.
Example of use - the
Primesat motor unit

1.8m dish is designed for an 80mm pole but will fit on a 76mm pole. It is, however a better fit if the 76mm to 80mm
Primesat shim is used. 80mm poles are not a standard size in the UK and so this shim was developed to make a perfect
fit between the Primesat motor unit and a 76mm (3inch) pole.
2nd Example - the
Primesat motor unit for the
motorised Raven (formally "Andrews" and before that "Channel Master")
1.2m dish is designed for an 80mm pole but will fit on a 76mm pole. It is, however a better fit if the 76mm to 80mm

is thermoset-moulded glass fibre reinforced polyester for strength and rigidity and surface accuracy.
Technical - Gain 47.6 dBi at 11.95Ghz. 3dB beamwidth - 0.7 degrees. Cross polarisation - 30dB, Collar fits a 100mm pole.
An ultimate dish system for enthusiasts.
The motor unit is a Primesat CH24100
polar mount and 36 inch SuperJack QARL-3636+ heavy duty
actuator
actuator. The polar mount is dipped galvanised with a steel back plate to fit the Raven 2.4m dish. All of the
nuts & bolts are stainless steel and the elevation adjusters are made of brass. A matched Raven feedhorn is
highly recommended for this Raven 2.4m dish and is an option. Using a matched feedhorn with a C120 flange LNB
provides better matching and more good signal (a higher signal to noise ratio) than a standard 40mm clamp LNB.
It is best not to invest in a high quality Raven dish and use a compromise 40mm mass market LNB where the
integrated feedhorn is designed for ANY dish but is not matched.? Taking this 2.4m dish as an example, a
40mm LNB may only illuminate 2.3m of dish area or perhaps 2.5m of dish area (i.e. including noise from round
the edges) but with a matched feedhorn, exactly 2.4m of dish area is illuminated. C120 LNB options below.

The differences between prime focus
and offset dishes.
A prime focus dish is shown above.
This type of dish is circular NOT oval. It has 3 feed support arms (some use 4 arms) and the 3 arms
converge in the centre. Each arm is 120 degrees apart. The feedhorn uses concentric scalar rings.
The concentric scalar rings reduce noise and improve signal to noise ratio with prime focus dishes.
An offset dish is oval and is higher than it is wide (some are wider than they are high). They use either
one feed support arm (at the bottom of the dish - see bottom left hand picture) or 3 feed support arms
(again all in the bottom 1/2 of the dish - see bottom right hand picture). They require a feedhorn
that is in the shape of a horn without scalar rings.
Larger, higher quality offset dishes will use three support arms as the extra two side support arms
provide better rigidity when dish sizes exceed 1.0m. The offset dish shown above right is the
excellent high gain
Raven 1.8m dish.
As a general rule the two types of dishes are simply two ways of doing the same job, however, an
the offset dish, if well engineered usually has significantly more gain than the prime focus dish.
It is never really that simple. It is true that petalised offset dishes usually have poor gain but
a one piece well engineered prime focus dish can be better than a poorly engineered offset dish.
As usual you get what you pay for. Cheap prime focus petalised dishes are to be
avoided and we don't sell them.

Manufactures quote a particular size of dish, however, dishes are not circular, they are
oval and the dish diameter referred to in their literature and on our site is an
